For nearly 13 years, Cash Gonzalez has called Keystone home. Having been part of the community since kindergarten, they have built deep relationships with their classmates and teachers, growing into a leader whose impact extends across various areas. Their involvement in student government, yearbook, and academic clubs has shaped their time at Keystone, and they leave behind a legacy of dedication and creativity.
As Class Vice President, Cash has played a crucial role in organizing events, collaborating with administration, and ensuring their class’s goals and concerns are heard. One of their proudest achievements was planning 2024 Valentine’s Day, where they oversaw product sales, marketing, and distribution.
Their passion for storytelling and design has also flourished through their role as Co-Editor of the Yearbook. Cash has spent countless hours shaping Keystone’s yearbook, from designing layouts and taking photos to leading the editorial team in creating a publication that captures the true essence of Keystone.
In addition to their leadership roles, Cash has embraced intellectual challenges through their involvement in Model UN and Quiz Bowl. Joining Model UN in 10th grade, they have attended multiple conferences, researching global issues and crafting well-developed position papers. Their time in Quiz Bowl has been equally rewarding, competing in weekly matches, studying rigorously on their own, and navigating the challenges of a small team in the 2022 online NNT competition.
Beyond academics and leadership, Cash has been deeply engaged in community service. As a member of the National Honor Society, they have contributed to various volunteer efforts, from working with the San Antonio Food Bank and Corazón Ministries to participating in city-wide initiatives like San Antonio Parks & Recreation and Light the Night.
Cash’s Keystone experience has been filled with unforgettable moments, from hanging out with friends at late-night gatherings to exploring new places duringon outdoor education trips. One of their favorite memories is the 2024 trip to Yosemite, where they cherished evenings spent with classmates, simply enjoying each other’s company. Their trip to Washington, D.C., was another highlight— they had an opportunity to experience the city’s rich history, beautiful Georgetown district, and inspiring museums.
As they prepare for the next chapter, Cash is eager to continue pursuing their love for writing and critical thinking. They are considering studying English, Spanish, political science, or history. While they are still waiting to choose a college, one thing is certain—wherever they go, Cash will bring their creativity and funny jokes.
When asked about the biggest life lesson they’ve learned, Cash keeps it simple:
“YOLO—live your life, have fun, stay strong.”
With their passion, resilience, and ability to bring people together, there’s no doubt that Cash will leave their mark wherever they go. Congratulations, Cash, on all you’ve accomplished, and we will miss you next year!
