For the past thirteen years, Sindhu has called Keystone her home. She has never failed to bring a smile to my face or tell me the funniest joke I’ve heard all week. She’s a colorful, compassionate, and caring friend who strikes a great balance between having fun and being committed to her academics and community impact.
Beyond the classroom, Sindhu’s love for science and her commitment to meaningful research stands out. She’s spent multiple summers at the prestigious Voelcker Biomedical Academy, where she conducted groundbreaking research on prostate cancer. Her focus on finding healthier alternatives to radiation therapy has already resulted in multiple poster presentations and publications. Sindhu’s dedication to biomedical research is more than just impressive – it’s inspiring. She’s already contributing to knowledge that could change lives.
Sindhu’s commitment to the well-being of others extends far beyond the lab. As a leader in the organization People for Urban and Rural Education (PURE), she directed the San Antonio branch, focusing on providing essential resources to underprivileged communities. Through this role, Sindhu helped run projects that ranged from distributing basic necessities to advocating for women’s health in South India. Her work with PURE even inspired her to start a program called PURE FEMME, which provides sanitary products to underserved communities.
Her commitment to service is matched only by her passion for her cultural heritage. Since 2014, Sindhu has been mastering the art of Carnatic music and Bharatanatyam dance. Her several hour long Arangetram, which had hundreds of people in the audience, showed a deep respect and love for these traditions.
At school, Sindhu has also taken on important leadership roles. From serving as a Student Council Representative to organizing mentorship programs for younger students with Mia (Lower School Connects), she’s always looked for ways to build connections and make Keystone a better place for everyone.
Sindhu Atluri’s time at Keystone has been defined by a drive to excel and a heart for service. She leaves behind a legacy of compassion and leadership. As she prepares to embark on the next chapter of her journey, we can’t wait to see her accomplish great things in college!
